Students work together to create monologues, scenes, and a series of 10 minute plays through a variety of writing exercises that examine scene and overall play structure, characters, conflict, events, dialogue, and action. Emphasis is placed on idea generation, creative risk taking, and a thorough process. Playwrights will look at scenes and monologues from both classical and contemporary plays to provide context for their own original work.
