The incredible team of PGT Teaching Artists has adapted the Young Actors Ensemble for virtual learning, allowing our students to create a performance space out of their very own living rooms, and turn some of their favorite objects from home into props! And you never know when a visiting Guest Artist will zoom bomb camp, so look out! Our PGquaranTine season promises to be filled with creative challenges, fun surprises, and a ton of imagination!!
Students in the Young Actors' Ensemble participate in a variety of classes each week: Acting, Song Study, Accents and Dialects, and more. Each class is an opportunity to explore new ideas and foster their growing skills in the performing arts. The Young Actors’ Ensemble is a complete immersion into the world of theatre, as students learn and experiment with a variety of disciplines.
YAE students work with their director to rehearse an ensemble-based original virtual theatre piece. Shows are created with each specific cast in mind, and include monologues, poems, scenes, songs, and dance, providing an opportunity for every personality to emerge. Members of the Young Actors Ensemble contribute to the creation of their play through basic writing exercises, improv and sharing their ideas about the overall concept of the show. Students will work with the staff to make script and performance choices that adapt to our new virtual format, creating a piece of theatre that will resonate for our online audience. YAE shows always deliver a powerful message - along with plenty of laughter! We know that special YAE creative energy will light up our virtual stage this season too!
New material is covered in each session and we look forward to having many of the same students from session 1 return for session 2. Students registering for both sessions receive a discount! Or combine either session with one of our diverse programs this season!
